This level consists of two sessions: Hand building (with 10 classes) and Wheel Throwing (with 12 classes)
Suitable for ages 12 and up.
10 Kg Stoneware Clay (cone 6 stoneware )
Basic pottery toolkit and apron (Students can take the kit back on the last day of the class )

Participants will acquire foundational skills in hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction, alongside clay preparation methods.
The course emphasizes hands-on practice to create various forms, from functional to sculptural pieces, and encourages creative expression, problem-solving, and adaptability.
Students will also learn to combine different techniques and explore altering methods to create unique shapes.
Participants enhance their pottery with surface decoration techniques like carving, stamping, and texturing and refine their pieces through detailing and finishing methods.
The course includes opportunities for critique and evaluation, fostering a sense of community and ongoing learning among participants, with access to additional resources for further development.

This course covers the essentials of wheel throwing, including clay preparation, centering, and opening.
Participants will progress from creating cylindrical forms to shaping bowls, learning techniques for consistent wall thickness and various forms.
Additional skills such as trimming, handle making, and altering thrown forms are also covered, with hands-on practice throughout.
Participants will explore surface decoration techniques like slip trailing, carving, and stamping to enhance their pottery.
The course emphasizes detailing and refining pieces, culminating in a group critique to discuss strengths, areas for improvement, and personal goals, fostering continuous learning and artistic development.
