Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty as working with clay can be messy.

Introduction to Ceramics and Hand building : + Welcome and introduction to the workshop.
+ Overview of hand building techniques and their applications in ceramic art.
Types of Clay and Preparation : + Discussion on different types of clay suitable for hand building.
+ Demonstration of clay preparation techniques, including wedging and kneading.
Pinch Pot Technique : + Instructor-led demonstration of the pinch pot technique. + Step-by-step guidance on creating pinch pots, including shaping and smoothing.
Coil Building Technique : + Live demonstration of coil building technique by the instructor.
+ Explanation of coil construction and joining methods.
+ Hands-on practice for participants to build their own coil pots or sculptures.
Slab Building Technique : + Demonstration of slab building technique using clay slabs.
+ Instruction on rolling out slabs, cutting shapes, and assembling pieces.
+ Participants will have the opportunity to create their own slab-built projects.
Surface decoration and texture: + Introduction to surface decoration techniques such as carving, stamping, and adding texture.
+ Tips on enhancing the visual appeal of hand built ceramics through creative surface treatments.
Pottery Wheel throwing demonstration and hands-on + Participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at the pottery wheel under the guidance of the instructor.
+ Individualized assistance and feedback provided to each participant. + Exploration of creating simple forms such as cups, bowls, or small vases.
After the class, the firing process will be conducted by the staff. Students will then be able to collect their pieces approximately 14 days afterward. Further instructions will be communicated accordingly.
